Voting in the 2026 Election

How to Vote

Votes will be cast electronically in the 2026 Municipal Election, by internet or telephone. There will be no paper ballot.

A Voter Information Letter will be mailed directly to voters early October 2026. Each voter will receive a PIN to allow voters to cast their vote 24 hours a day for 10 days, from any telephone or any device connected to the internet.

You can vote in the Smiths Falls municipal election if you are:

  • a Canadian Citizen; and
  • at least 18 years old; and
  • a resident in the Town of Smiths Falls; or
  • a non-resident of the Town of Smiths Falls but you or your spouse own or rent property in the Town; and are not prohibited from voting under any law.

There will be a help desk at Town Hall should you require assistance with the voting process.
